About Kredulous
Read the record. Not the name on it.
Kredulous is a nonpartisan, blind candidate-alignment tool for the California general election on November 3, 2026.
The problem
Most of us vote the top of the ballot on what we know and the rest on name recognition, party, or ballot order. The information to do better exists, but it is scattered across dozens of sites in formats nobody reads at the kitchen table. What is missing is not data. It is a place to weigh it that you can trust.
What we built
You evaluate the real records and positions of the two candidates in a race while their names, parties, and branding stay hidden. You agree, disagree, or skip, one sourced card at a time. At the end, we reveal the candidates and show exactly how your responses aligned with each one, item by item, source by source.
Kredulous reports alignment. It never tells you who to vote for, and it never names an ideal candidate. You decide.
Trust is enforced in the code, not promised
- Every card links to a source you can open, with the exact excerpt we drew from. Campaign claims are labeled as candidate-stated, never as fact.
- Cards are written in neutral, parallel language, and a loaded-language filter blocks slogans and approval words before anything publishes.
- A leakage scanner checks every visible field for names, parties, and campaign voice, so the blind evaluation stays blind. It cannot be overridden.
- No race goes live until it passes nine checks, including equal coverage per candidate and a source on every card.
- The core experience needs no account and collects no name, email, address, or party. Your responses are never sold, never used for ad targeting, and never shared with campaigns.
Auditable by anyone
Every number is auditable. Each race publishes its own methodology page and a downloadable public dataset, and anyone can flag a card, with every correction published in the open.
Candidate data is provisional until the state certifies it. We would rather show you a smaller, honest picture than a complete, confident one that is wrong.
